Why should you consider a Venturi flow tube for your flow project?
Venturis have a long history as a dependable device for flow measurement. Utilizing basic physical relationships between velocities and pressures in pipes, venturis provide a stable, highly repeatable differential pressure signal that can be tailored to any application.
The basic performance of venturi meters is defined by their geometry but, as with any technology, refinements in the design of venturis and manipulation of the basic principles of differential pressure production have lead to advancements and improvements to the performance, especially in the case of differential pressure signal versus loss ratios, and accuracy.
While the traditional ASME standard venturis are perfectly serviceable devices, even 130 years after their initial introduction, proprietary designs such as the Wyatt LVM and PMT provide substantially improved performance characteristics.
